An Embodied Anthology
A collection of poetic audio-transmissions for the soulful mover.
In this series of audio-transmissions I have chosen to chart the body and her organs, tissues and fluids as a vital and poetic landscape, a series of nuanced bio-scapes that offer portals into the emergent, the imaginal and the sacred.
As you chart your body in this way the liminal dialogues of body and soul, body and psyche, body and the imaginal, are kindled. These realms offer insight, depth and agency on the path of embodied awakening and incarnate sensibility.
Each audio-transmission is accompanied by a transcription and a playlist so that you may explore language, metaphor, movement and meaning in your own time and in your own way.
A glimpse of the content
"When we were deep in our mother's womb, in the very initial stages of our development, we were curled around the physical heart. It was the centre. Our head was bowed and laid upon the heart.
Our tail curled upwards, a little bit like a seahorse, and the heart throbbed, spiralled and developed as the centre of our physical being. These codes are still written within us. When we bow our head or when we curve our spine, we remember these initial developmental stages.
Take a little while now to find a very sweet undulation through your spine. Allow your head to orient toward the heart, the sacrum to curl in, the coccyx to tip up and begin to let this ebb and flow of heart-nectar inform, invite and usher a gentle fluidic movement of your skull and spine. It need not be symmetrical. The body may wish to spiral slightly, to undulate. Let the fibres and the natural spirallic nature of the heart imbue the movements of your skull and spine, and if your limbs wish to participate in any way, feel free."
